Radio install advice for an 03 X-Type

My factory installed radio on my '03 X-Type is no longer working (my four year old put about $1.50 worth of change in the CD player - shorting the whole thing out!).
So - I need to get a new radio. My questions for this excellent forum are:
1) Has anyone purchased from nexxia.co.uk? They seem to be the only game in town in regards to getting aftermarket fascia plates.
2) Would I need all of the adapters from nexxia.co.uk that are on this page (http://nexxia.co.uk/Car_Stereo_fitting_kits/jaguar.htm) for my specific car (I am talking about the harness adapter, steering adapter and antenna adapters)?
3) Can anyone pass along some tips who have done this before?
Thank you all in advance!

Use the part numbers on Nexxia and type them into Google. There are a few other places to buy, e-bay has most of them. too. I still ended up buy the wiring from someone in the UK off of e-bay, it took about 2 weeks to get it.

hi Ron, I used the Nexxia facia, it looks good. I found the finish and shape didn't match the rest of the console (climate control section), as well as I would've liked. So I shaped it a little and found a paint finish that was almost identical. I've had a bit of experience with this type of work so it came out pretty good.
As for the harness, I bought a Sony DVD player (MEXRI1 - no screen). I liked that because it plays MP3s from a DVD (about 100 CDs worth of music). So I bought the Nexxia Sony harness. That worked perfect. I don't have steering wheel controls, but they have a harness for that as well.
One thing that caught me out; is there's not enough space in the console at the top mounting hole, to fit a standard DIN head unit. Your unit has to go in the bottom part mounting hole of the Nexxia facia and the pocket must go in the top mounting hole. The pocket that supplied with the unit seems a little cheap for a Jaguar and I would've like to be able to install a double din deck.
I'm happy to answer any quetions you have. (alan@redhotmedia.net)

Alan - do you mean to say that I can switch DIN positions with the Fascia from Nexxia.co.uk? If so - that does provide for some flexibility.
Which instructions did you use to remove the stock radio?

When you have a look at the mounting bracket and the facia, it appears you can mount your new head unit in either spot. It will screw in and look really nice until you try and put the console in the car. It's not an options there's not enough space between the facia and the air vent.
The head unit must go in the lower spot.

If you dont want to go through the trouble of getting an aftermarket radio, there's tons of replacement CD Players for the X on ebay right now as we speak.
rifferte you also don't have to go with nexxia when it comes to the dash kit. Metra makes a dash kit that you can get for the x and it's only 30 or less here in the states from any shop that sells metra products. Here's a pic of what it looks like but if you have a 02/03 that has the black dash you might have to paint it black as the 03/04 newer x's have a more silver dash which, the metra kit matches perfectly.
