do you have an ACM unit? (the system that allows you to hook up an iPod or MP3 player)

bharvey, from what you are describing, it is 1 of 2 issues. You either have an internal failure in the radio (ie, most likely a broken solder joint) and that is causing the radio to loose the constant 12 VDC power (which is causing the radio to loose its memory) or the 12 VDC constant power wire to the radio is failing and when you hit a bump, the wire wiggles some, opening up some, dropping power and sending you into the same situation.

Question though. When you radio shuts down and the comes back up, do you still have all your radio presets or the CD player remembers where the CD was? If so, then you are looking at an internal radio issue. If the radio is completely wiped free of any stored information, then it can be either option I mentioned above. Hope this helps you narrow things down a little bit.

The funny thing is is that the presets are still there but the clock I always have to reset as well as the Celsius to Fahrenheit
