F.Y.I. The wife's X type had the rear end rattle that sounded like the spare tyre was bouncing around in the boot. After a forum search the guilty culprit looked to be the rear anti roll bar bushes. A mate of mine has a car parts shop and suggested trying the Ford Mondeo bushes at £10 a pair instead of £40 for the Jag ones. The result is a perfect fit and no rear end rattle.
