it must just feel cool to say "factory navigation" lol. Theres not too many x's out there so finding parts in a scrap yard wont be easy, and you may be forced to go the dealer route. Guage clusters are commonly on ebay, i highly doubt the auto headlight is connected to the rear view in anyway.

actually somekidz I think that what he is speaking of is the sensor that tells whether it is bright enough or dark enough for headlights to be on. I'm pretty sure it is built in with the rear view mirror although I could be mistaken...should be one of these two. I'd say that the sensor is located in the mirror but that may or may not be why the autolight feature is not working. How much did you pay for the car and welcome to the forum. Hopefully you are enjoying the car!

Well, I just covered that sensor thing with my finger and nothing happened, so it might or might not be, but now I doubt it!

Yeah thats what I figured. My sisters 90 lincoln mark vii has automatic brightlights. Meaning when a car has its lights on the brights turn off and when its dark they automatically turn on. Its amazing how many features that car has!!! My monte was on the dash I think. The spot on the mirrors the only place it could be.

Then, if I covered it with a finger wouldn't the lights turn on?
