Default Relocate Juice

Been contemplating relocating my battery to the trunk. Benefits...15-20 pounds off the front end.....battery is away from the heat of the engine....
Cons: no spare......

Anybody have any ideas?

I see this post is from 2006, but did you ever do it? As far as not having a spare, I removed the spare, the jack and the lug wrench from my Cadillac Eldorado I used to have b4 my X-Type. I used to race a lot and I figured the dropped weight would make it a little faster. My thinking was that we drive around with all that junk and maybe get a flat once in 2 years....??? So why bother carrying all that weight. I just stowed a can of Fix a Flat in the trunk instead.

Anyway, I was thinking of doing that in my X but waiting until I get new tires. Also, the rear on these X's seems to ride a little higher than the front. I don't want to remove the spare, jack, etc. and have the rear even just a little higher than it already is. Ultimately I'd like to lower my X. I heard you can cut off half a loop on the springs at each wheel for about a 1" drop. Sounds good, but of course getting the springs off and on again is prob. a project.

Anyway, just bored at work and blabbing!
