I have an X-Type 2005 3.0

Battery was dead replaced with a brand new battery from Jaguar dealer. When I open door now the dome light comes on but will not shut off for 30 minutes? I have checked the switch its set right. All I did was install a new battery. Any suggestions how to make the light go out after 25 sec like it used too?

Did the dome light staying on drain the battery by any chance?
It could be the door switch sticking.

 

Try lubrication of the door latch and switch with SILICON spray. Open and close the door 20-30 times. Sometimes it works, sometimes not which necessitates switch replacement.
