matl, with the help of a second person, what you will need to do is to put the car into Reverse and then walk behind the car, placing you ear next to each of the 4 backup sensors. If the sensor is functioning properly, you should hear a high pitch squeal. Replace the sensor that is not squealing. If all 4 are not making any noise, then odds are you have a bad module and it needs replaced (make sure to verify that the fuse powering the module is good and the wiring is not damaged between the module and the sensors).

I am assuming you are getting a long 3 second tone when the car is placed into Reverse indicating that there is a problem with the system. A new sensor is like $90 delivered to your door via Ken@britishparts.com and installing a new sensor will take a few minutes to do. If you need more help, just hollar.

Matl, once I get all of my stuff from the mover's back, I will pull out my JTIS CD and see where the fuse is. From the sounds of things, you have blown the fuse. If you have a bad sensor, it will still give you a 3 second tone to let you know that it has sensed a failure and will not be beeping to give you an idea of how close you are to an object.

I had the same problem except that my reverse lights were not working either. My problem was the reverse light switch... however I have a manual transmission.

the reverse light switch is located above the transmission I believe. You can probably post a question asking where the reverse light switch is... some of these other guys can give you a more specific answer. I took my car to my local mechanic and I directed him to where I was told it was.

I thoght mine stopped working, but since I have the satnav, I checked the system setup and found that when I turned off the voice navigation recently on a long trip, I had also turned off the sound on the park assist system. After restoring the sound levels everything worked again. Just dumb luck!
