Default Rocker Panel/Sill cover removal

I want to spray some rust coating into the rocker panels/sills before they start rusting from the inside like my 2002 x type did. I'm assuming there should be some frame holes I can spray into. How can I remove the rocker panel / Sill plastic painted covers? Does anyone have a diagram or how-to video?

Also, do I need new clips after removing them as well? If so does anybody have part numbers for the clips?

I am attaching a sketch from SNGBarratt's catalog so that you can see the mounting. The bottom side of the panel is held by Push Rivets the upper is held by pins. Once the bottom push rivets are remove the pins can be pulled directly out. Don't be surprised if a couple break off, you can pull them out of the holder and using a soldering iron melt them back into their plastic mount. The push rivets will most likely need to be replaced they usually don't survive removal. They are a common trim item or can be purchased from SNGBarratt a forum sponsor.
