S-Button Won't Come On

RE: S-Button Won't Come On
Well do you notice that it is shifting differently when you do push the button? Cause my only guess is that maybe it is activating and the light has gone bad but you just don't know when it is on or off. That is all i can think of not really sure how to test it other than driving it and then pushing the button and seeing if it holds gears longer.

RE: S-Button Won't Come On
dThis was an issue with my '04 as well. Dealer said that it was simply an computer error code int the transmission. First off I received a warnin on my dashboard message system indication a transmission failure. Dealer said this is wy the S button d(because I dared question there determination regarding my car since they have over 27 years of experience with Jaguar service) diidn't work. Has not come on again since service in April Unfortunately, my dealer, Matheny Jaguar, in Jacsonville, Florida has been less than forthright with me in several other service failures, included in warranty, and have now been labeledme "trouble" customer and all further inquires regarding service have been rebuked. My only solution is to trave to Orando, Florida for service to my X-Type as it is still under warranty until 11/08.
Incidentally during my repeated service visits to Mathen Jaguar I observed more than several disgruntled customers with their service department. I love Jaguar but probably will never buy from this dealership again due to my very negative experience.
