Good afternoon everyone I've seen many posts on this issue but here's mine I have a 08 xtype 3.0 114,000 miles all of a sudden my alarm goes off car was parked nothing had been tampered with then i use my key fob to shut it off i then go to check the car and it showed security fault. I did a reset by taking off the negative battery post and it started but when i turned the key to shut it down car kept running so I took the post off again and the car was still running so i stepped on the gas pedal and it shut down with the post off. My question is how can i get the security fault off? Oh and I took the battery out of the key fob and now its not working it has to be reset I saw somewhere that could be a problem. You guys have been there for me in the past hopefully someone can help me out. Also had my battery tested and its fine. Please help Thanks

I haven't seen anyone manage to reach out to you yet and I don't have the full factory security "bells and whistles" on mine, so I can't fully help you.
But for your reference, here is a link to a TSB procedure for reprogramming your transmitters to the GEM (general electronics module).

Not sure if running this procedure will clear the GEM error and sort you fully out, or if it is just for re-associating the fobs to GEM.

 

There is a feature called LAST ALARM ACTIVATION.
It is in the setup and configuration tab of the dealer diagnostics.

It will tell you what set the alarm off so you have something to guide you for diagnosing the incident.

Not having the dealer level diagnostics will just leave you guessing but most people do NOT have access to the computers for Jaguars.

I've read on this about a sequence of blinking with the SAT as I've seen it bkinks 1 then 3 blinks can anyone please tell me what this means i recently posted about a security fault and I have 2 key fobs but neither one works anymore because the board in them are pretty much no good i tried ti reset them using the advice on here put new batteries in and nothing but again that's what's going on please need something to go on from here trying not to go to dealer the ones here in Illinois say they don't service my year Jag. Help please thanks

Hey guys found out that the PATS transceiver needs to be changed if I change it do I have to go to a dealer to get it set or will it just work when I use both of my keys. Also the chime doesn't work as well. So I can't reset fob for opening and closing doors.

 

The transceiver itself is basically a wire coil so you can just change it.
