does a 2003 mondeo shocks fit a 2003 x type jag 2 litre diesel

I'm not an expert but what I've read is that the Mondeo and X-Type are the same car. I'd try online sourcing the shocks (I like Bilstein) for both cars, then compare the part numbers.

 

Macs the rear shocks from the Mondeo mk3 will not fit on the X-Type, the top fittings are totally different.

 

From what I have read the rear suspension is based on the Mondeo Estate and front shocks are twin tube which suggests the mondeo version isnt?
And if you look at suppliers part numbers they are different also.

I would stick with those designed for the x type there isnt a huge difference in price if you shop around online?
