Default Side Marker Lights - 2003 X-Type, 2.5

X-Type, 2003. 2.5. My rear passenger side side marker lens broke. I have looked all over the the Internet and parts stores for a replacement part and have been unable to locate one! The closest I found was to an S-type and it will not fit. Can anyone tell me where I can find a red, rear passenger side side marker light ? Thanks. Pictures on link.

Coventry West is a great site for used parts. They specialize in salvaged vehiches and only sell parts (not the entire automobile). Good luck!

eBay have some really cool clear lights. I replaced my front turn signals and front markets with clear lenses and amber bulbs. Cheaper than Jag parts and cool looking.

Here's mine. Love that Euro look. Both the marker and signal lights were on Ebay.

In the UK there are alternative bulbs available.
They are silver finish and avoid what is called " the fried egg look"
Ebay search for 501 silver chrome finds loads of them.

I also plan to swop my front 21W indicator bulbs for silver chrome as I really dislike the orange ones.

Can you post pics of those clear sidemarkers lit up at night? I have a black car too and I'd like to see how it looks before I switch to the clear lenses.

Also, you could run LEDs in all of those lights which won't give you the fried egg look. I've done a full LED conversion on my car so I won't get that effect if I go to a clear lens

I've gone all clear front and rear side markers and the wing repeaters. Amber and red LEDs for the side markers and white 194 bulbs for the repeaters. No fried eggs. Having DRLs on all the time the side marker LEDs are barely noticeable as on during the day but sufficiently lit at night. I had to switch to the LEDs as having my side markers on with the DRLs actually started to melt the housings with the old 194 bulbs in there.

I've got a pair of smoked indicators on my black Jag. Like these

I'll take some pictures of them on the car later.

Here's a picture of the fitted indicator. Sorry, didn't get chance to wash the car before taking the picture.

Does everyone but me have a sport model? lol

I have a VDP so I was thinking that the clear lenses would blend in with the chrome bumper trim when they're not lit up and then stick out more at night.

I haven't been able to find pictures of them on a black car with the chrome trim yet. Still debating whether or not I want to change mine.

I like those smoked repeaters too, maybe I'll do the clear sidemarkers with those repeaters

Evan,
I changed mine out a while ago...love the look. I think it's very clean. Check out this post, I put pictures of my car about halfway down:

Nice! I think I'll definitely be doing mine now.

Those smoked side repeaters mentioned on this thread earlier also look good on a black car. I think I might do those with the clear sidemarkers

I switched out the bulbs for some chrome amber bulbs. Much better effect. Gets rid of the 'fried egg' look. I tried to get a pic of the lights on. It didn't come out that good. I'll try this evening if I remember, between my son's soccer and me passing out!
Anyway, lights off and on.
