Default Squeaking Suspension

Whenever it's cold out my rear suspension squeaks like an old spring. Recently it's become more annoying so I'm looking to silence it. I suspect it just needs some lubrication since it seems to vary with the temperature. Any ideas of what to look for though?

I'm taking it in within the next couple days to have it looked at and hopefully fixed.

Typically that's a sign of a bad bushing or bushings. You can try spraying them with wd40 and see if it stops, if it does stop then you've found the problem. I suggest spraying one at a time so you can pinpoint which one(s) are the problem bushings.

Mine had a squeak in the rear where pushing against the rear bumper lightly would trigger it.

It disappeared after the car was oil sprayed underneath.

If you want a lubricant that both rust proofs and does not hurt rubber bushings, try Fluid Film as it is lanolin based.

Thanks guys

Plums, that is exactly what I have. Pushing down on the rear bumper even very slightly will trigger it. I'll have to look into that treatment, sounds like it serves multiple purposes

Try spraying a little ATP AT-205 re-seal on your bushings. I just bought some for that very reason. It conditions old rubber seals and quiets squeaks. I also put some on my imt o-rings because I've heard those become a problem for x-types as they get older and the rest I'm planning on putting in my oil and transmission.

Evan, I would get my hands on some WD-40 and give the bushings for the rear sway bar a good spray and see what you have at that point. In a lot of cases, that is what is the source of the noise for our cars.
