Start up issues with 2003 2.5
For the past few months when ever my car shuts off I have to jump it w/ my jumper pack to start it up again. When I go on long trips (distances over an hour or so) It'll start up just fine for a few days. Then after those days have transpired it'll go back to having to be jumped upon start everytime. I'm thinking it's the battery and not the alternator. What do you guys think?
at 1st I just dealt with it but now its starting to get annoying! Like I always have girls pick me up on dates and give them random excuses like "I let my roommate use my car to go drop off his grandma..." lol

well not sure where you are from but if there are auto stores such as AUTOZONE or ADVANCE AUTO PARTS, go there and they do a free battery check for you. YOu would have to unhook the battery and take it in and they would tell you if your battery is bad. If that's not the problem, your alternator might be going out...

My wife's Expedition did that. Took 3 trips to service before finding an intermittent draw (rear wiper motor didn't park sometimes). Major PIA! OTOH, my Jag battery died a couple weeks ago, no warning, it was fine until it was dead. Started, left work, stopped at the party store down the street and that was it. Never cranked again - wouldn't even take a jump. Good luck - as you can see, it could go either way.
