I believe you can swap wheels if you swap all the controls on it too. So, you'd need the entire wheel. I have an extra one, with controls, but it doesn't have leather on it anymore. I have a custom wheel wrap, and I bought an extra wheel for them to use to make the wrap so I didn't have to have my car down while they did it, so the leather got pulled off both my wheels.

Its one of the easiest wheels I've taken off a car to be honest. You need a number 50, or 55 I think, torques bit. Maybe its a 45...I cant remember. That and a short flat head to release the air bag from the wheel. The air bag is the hard part. Make sure you disconnect the battery and let the car sit for at least ten mins before you do though. You could also pull the fuse for it if you wanted to be extra sure. There are little openings in the back part of the wheel and you have to get the flat head in there and "pop" the air bag's tabs loose from the wheel's tabs. Although that's on the 04 wheel.
