Default Stiff Suspension

When I jump into my 2002 Jag X-type it squeeks and I think it is the suspension? Is there a way to lube the shocks or struts? Is there a way to ge the squeek out of the suspension?

Very loud creaking noise with even the slightest of pressure put on the suspension? Kind of like an old bed spring? Probably your rear lower control arms. Possibly the e-brake cable as well. If you do a search on here there are TONS of posts about both. Relatively simple and inexpensive fix. Are the tops of your rear tires pointing in toward the center of the car? If so, tell tale sign the bushings are shot on the control arms. Just had mine done recently (and new rear springs) and it is like driving a new car again.

Here are some old TSBs

Also check the handbrake cable suspender grommet (lube it with silicone grease or something like that)

Guys, I had a mechanic look at it and he said it is a leaking rear shock. Does this sound reasonable?

Yes, a blown rear shock will cause the suspension to creak, tell-tale sign.
