Default Sunroof wind defelector

With the roof open and a rear seat folded down, the wind buffeting is really annoying. Is any one using an aftermarket wind deflector as does it make a big difference? Any pics or recommendations on a low profile one?

Ding, ding, winna winna chicken dinna. Crack the back windows and the buffeting almost disappears.

It's either that or buy one of those WT smoked plastic scoopy things that fasten on with double sided tape.

Then you can get the same thing for the windows, I actually saw an S Type the other day with those plastic things over all 4 windows. Nice!

This is just my opinion and does not reflect the views of this network, but I dislike the plastic scoopy things on windows and the sunroof.

I know, I know, I shouldn't have the plastic scoopy thing on my own front fenders, but somehow I can justify those pieces.

I've had the sunroof deflectors on prior cars and they always seemed like a good idea at the time. But then once installed they look like ballz and don't really help all that much. Lowering rear windows however does help a good bit as previously stated.

The noise I was getting just having the sunroof open was so loud at times I couldn't hear the radio. I put one on the sunroof, I was afraid that it was going to look funny or make it look like something from downtown Philly. It didn't though, it kind of made the car a little more classy, I think it made a difference on the gas mileage too. The nosie level was almost gone. It worked for me, I don't have any recent pictures, I'll try and post some soon.

vai1953, I'd have a look at the pictures for sure. I'm also not a fan of them in particular but wouldn't mind breezing down the hi-way without having to open the rear windows.

Your scoopy things are original Jaguar parts. Plastic scoopies are not. I'm going to do the roof rack delete this summer on the Jagon (Jestate?) I'm looking to sleek rather than function. I've got a SS (Stainless Steel, not Solid State for the IT guys) company up here that does a mesh, little bit wider than the one you normally see and they'll cut me the sizes I need for upper and lower grill.

Cracking the rear windows open is also free, despite whether one likes or dislikes the look/function of the sunroof scoop as pictured above.

Ive had the sunroof deflector on a few other cars and window deflectors on a truck. not sure about noise benefeit on the sunroof one but the window does make less fog on inside. I set a sunroof deflector on my X but didnt like the look too much. Somebody does have a kit for Xtype for all 4 windows. I think maybe CAR ID has it for just the front 2

I had a wind deflector on my Toyota 4Runner for the hood and sun roof. I pulled them off and I increased the gas mileage. Go Figure! I always felt if it was not on the body of the car from the factory it was not meant to be there. Wind drag and all that stuff.
