Default Suspension bushing size - help?

I'm trying to rebush the following:
* front stabilizer bar
* rear lower lateral control arm - front position

Does anyone have dimensions, ID/OD and length, so we can cross reference appropriate bushing? I'm thinking of Energy as one possible source. Thanks.

It seems waste to install new suspension components just to get the new rubber bits. Hasn't anyone done just the bushing replacements?

Searched but no return on bushing refinishing. Other car forums there are resourceful people who were able to find alternative source for bushings and re-using the control arms/sway bars..,

Dang it I searched too but couldn't find the post I was looking for. I did find this one that covers the rear swaybar bushing: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...rgy+suspension

I'll look on a few other forums too. I know people have done this it's just a matter of finding it. Maybe PM Thermo, he of all people would probably have the measurements. If not, hey, grab a tape measure and go to work for us!

Thanks for the link, Chris. The car is my daily driver so it's painful to dismantle/measure/reinstall/order/dismantle/rebush/install. I'm hoping for the pioneers to shed some light on this : )

Ah yes I know what you mean. I wonder if the dealer would have the specs, like maybe the sizes are listed on the bag that the bushings come in?

Any of you techs know?

Looked back at one of my earlier posts...here is a reply with a link to a reasonable priced source. Only issue...it's in UK.

I checked their price on rear lower control arm(front position) and it's more expensive than US source. Shipping would only be on top of that.

It's shame that we can't replace just the rubber bits on a piece of metal vs buying the whole thing. Looks as I will be replacing the control arms this spring.

If you can get a bushing out of its mount it can be replaced. I would bet that Ford has the bushings you need.

I sent an email to racing green cars.com concerning the above mentioned bushings. Here is the answer. As you can see 4 of them shipping is 25 pounds british. Price on them is $57us plus 21% Value added tax. Much cheaper than new lower control arm.
Website for these is http://www.thejaguarshop.com/Jaguar/...s/RG%20109.htm

I have a 2003 s type 3.0 with squeaky rear lower control arm bushing. Of course Jaguar wants me to buy complete Lower control arm. Do I understand that you have bushings that will work? Should I replace the one making noise or all on the arm?
What is part number and price shipped to US Postal Code 25302??

I with you on this one. This is one of those jobs that just doesn't make sense for Jaguar dealers to replace the old bushings (at $100+ per hour) and maybe not get it right; hence, no replacement bushings.

In the world of polyurethane replacement bushings, the typical approach is to remove the inner shell, then cut / dig / burn out the old rubber and leave the outer shell in place, then slip a new 2-piece poly bushing into the old shell (after all the rubber gunk is cleaned out) from both sides. So, the critical dimensions are the inside diameter of the outer shell, length of the shell, ID of the inner shell, and overall width of the inner shell. Armed with this info, you might get lucky with a supplier like Energy Suspension.

Hopefully, someone with a bad control arm or access to the dealer's dumpster can weigh in on these dimensions.

Mike, I appreciate your investigation but if I understand your email correctly set of 4 bushes + shipping from UK to US is $57 + $25*1.5 = $95 and there is labor to press the old bush out and press new ones in. This against $78 x 2 new control arms shipped from JPLV in Las Vegas. I'm still on the fence with this one.
