Tech HELP requested. Connector ID
Hi guys & gals,
I am almost finished with my engine re-install. Powertrain & Subframe back in and engine compartment complete.
I have run into a pickle, a bit sour for my taste, and I need some assistance. When I re-installed the Engine Harness there was a section that was about 18" to 20" from the ECU connector that branches off the main harness. I remember that it routed down the front of the block through the Power Steering Pump bracket. One connector goes to the CPK sensor but where does the other go??? I am at a loss. Here are the pics:
Right hand side of vehicle/front of engine
Notice that it is "metal-plated" (chromed plastic) and then has about 24" tail of simple black plastic tubing with connector at the end.
The connector, it looks like it does not go in the engine compartment anywhere. Looks more like a "lamp" connector. HELP!!

Disco,
You are correct about the "style" of the connector. My side markers have that same "style" plug but are BLACK. I thought that it might be an engine compartment courtsy lamp but upon inspecting the Hood the were no lamps. I've checked both left and right wheel well areas and no place to plug-in. I've look all over the top rear and firewall area and no place to plug-in. I've checked the front bumper cover and the radiator areas and no place to plug-in.

Disco,
I appreciate you taking time to respond.
Yes, I have side markers. They are hooked up to the Body wiring harness not the Engine harness. This connector dumps a signal into the ECU. I suppose if no one can help ID the connector/component position then I will have to hope for an error code.
I can't imagine an almost white connector would be so hard to find.
I looked at washer pump and inside both wheel wells. ????????

Colt,
I have seen those "dead end" connectors here and there on the other harnesses and I am thinking this may be the power connector to that turbo charger option.
Seriously, the total length is approx 32" and is routed on the right side, (I think ) of the vehicle down the right side of the engine near the firewall, this perspective is viewing the engine from the transmission toward the front of the engine where the pulleys and belt are located. If you look inside your right front wheel well follow the axel down to the normally"rusted bracket" you will see a metal looking harness wire that is pluged into the CPK sensor on the front of the engine near the main pulley. Follow this wire back, it should route back up through your Power Steering Pump bracket. In there you should see another metal jacket that Y's off the one you just traced back.
This cable starts about 16" down from the main Engine Harness connector. It is bundled with the CPK sensor connector. The CPK and this "??? connector" Y about 10" from the end of the CPK sensor. This ??? connector from the Y to the end is about 24" and makes a transition to a "normal" black jacket about 18" from it's end.

Thanks soooooo much. I have literally spent hours physically looking at the sub-frame, engine compartment, wheel well, not to mention the lost time going over electrical diagrams trying to find where this connector goes.
I hooked it up last night. It might have been easier to SEE if there wasn't a white tag wrapped around a pressure hose hanging down hiding the Servo connector.
Thanks again!
