Do a search for Cruis not available, there are a number of factors, all of them related to vacuum leaks.

Usually if it has a gearbox fault light it leans more towards the throttle body as ive heard thats the culprit most of the time. God i hope it isnt it cuz it NOT CHEAP!! If you are experiencing symptoms of limp mode sometimes with your check engine light and cruise not available then,"goes away" Then "comes back" its usually vacuum leak. And id check into the IMT O-rings like MAYOR said. Check his post and you will find the exact location of the o-rings as he posted a pic (second page). Thats like 8 bucks from the local Jag dealer.

Well this is the second cold season in a row I have had the "cruise not available." although this time there is no check engine light showing like there was with the first time. I changed an o-ring last year. The cruise not available seems to show randomnly, not everyday and no limp mode-- the car runs like it always does. Should I be looking at vaccuum leaks again?

Please read xtype faq's these issues have been brought up so much that theres a wealth of info. Even to the point that non mechanical members are giving the answers. Yes vacuum leaks are the normal cause, and theres alot more than imt orings that cause vacuum leaks, brake booster pipe check valve, intake gaskets, pcv hose, imt's and an occassional brake booster diaphram leaking

Great, thanks. I realize it could be something other than the IMT rings, I thought I would ask since the CEL is not showing like last time. I will look into the FAQ's. thanks again.

Definitely fix it, or it'll need cat(s) too!
