I can get the AC Autosport cross drilled and slotted rotors, and redstuff pad for $349.22 shipped to my door.

Where did you purchase your set?

91Stealthes, I purchased mine via E-bay. Check out:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jagua...Q5fAccessories

I know these say that they are for the 02-04, but I believe that the brake systems are the same for all years of X-Types. I would confirm just to make sure as I see some of the kits out there advertise that they are for say 02-08. But, that is for $190 delivered and with ceramic pads. If I remember right, that is the same stuff I got. I haven't checked the wear, but there is no dust build up on the rims and they are stopping as good as ever after 5K miles.

thermo, i was also looking into these brakes but i was cautious so i didnt buy them. I thought the price was too good to be true. I've heard some nasty stuff about ebay brakes. cracking issues and warping etc. would you say that these are good quality brakes ( im asking because you have them)

I have been happy with them. Have I done a detailed inspection of them since install. No, but I would think that if the rotors were cracking, I would hear/feel it. Now, do I drive like a bat out of hell every day doing repeated hard braking. NO. But, for me, I am happy with my purchase.

Well, I never got around to purchasing brakes and Rotos...I notice it has been 2 years since I started this thread too...wow.

So, 20k miles later and the brakes are now grinding and squeeling, so, time to finally replace them.

Is there any benefit to purchasing slotted or dimpled rotors?

Right now, I have EBC Ultimax Rotors and Redstuff pads in the cart on EBCRotors ($485) and EBCBrakesDirect $514.

Since it has been 2 years since my original post, is EBC still the way to go? Should I just get flat rotors and save some money?

@ Thermo...how did your eBay brakes hold up? Do you remember which they were, could you find them on eBay today?

Thanks for any help!

Cheers,
J

I need to get all 4 replaced soon and was looking at this set:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FRONT-REAR-Performance-DRILLED-Brake-Rotors-Pads-/260834004446?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &fits=Make%3AJaguar|Model%3AX-Type&hash=item3cbaeb0dde

Budget will not allow much else at this time.

I did see these:

On Ebay for much less

I wonder what good the partial slots do and I prefer the look of the drilled only rotors.
