Tony, like was mentioned, have an alignment done on your vehicle. The inside wear is caused by too much negative camber on the front tires. It can also be due to excessive toe. The toe is adjustable on our cars, but the camber can not. So, in order to fix camber issues, you need to replace either ball joints or upper/lower A-arms. IT all depends on which part(s) have worn out bushings. So, if you can figure out which parts are worn and need replacement before you take the car in for the alignment, that will be advantageous unless you can find a shop that is willing to look at the car, tell you the bad parts so you can get them replaced before getting the alignment done.
As for the feathering, do you like to take corners fairly fast? that can lead to feathering. It can also be a sign of an imbalanced tire. This will normally be felt in the steering wheel as a wobble.
If you need more help, let us know.

I noticed my front left inside tire edge was wearing a lot faster only after about 1.5 years or 15,000 miles since they were put on new.

I'd have to take a look at my log book, since i switch between summer and winter wheels. Off the top of my head I will say about 20,000 miles between the summer and winter tires total since my last alignment. Of those, about 8,000 are on the new softer summer tires (Hankook Ventus V4). No inside edge wear.

looking for an update...
I am having severe tire wear on inner edges of both front tires.
Last alignment was 4 months ago along with new tires all around. Fronts are going bologna skin on the inner edges. It looks like the front toe on both sides was set to -1/32.
The rear is further out than that but wearing normal.
I am guessing it must be the lower control arms and ball joints.
