yeah i am, i just stumbled uppon a cheap srt8, but i think ( like all srt8) it was bagged on and final quit. XFR all the way, i wish thye were making a xjr, but there not, or atleast don't have plans too.

But you could put a hood ornament onto the xfr, which would totally make it look like you are driving a jag and want to rub it in everyones face

I'm glad Jaguar finally stopped making the XJR. An R Model is supposed to be performance. The new R range is going to be similar to BMW M and not Mercedes AMG. A 200+ inch luxury boat doesn't make sense as an R. You still get all the goodies in the supercharged ones like 470hp and a LSD. And the supersport (which is ridiculously more expensive than the regular supercharged) even has the R engine in it.

Did I misunderstand what you said? You "wished they were making a XJR"? Because there are XJR.

Since when have they stopped making XJR? I know the "old look" XJ was available with a supercharger, and I'm pretty sure the "new look" XJ is available with the same choice of engine as the XK and XF, that is the 5.0 V8 with or without supercharger. Or maybe I missed a recent announcement by Jaguar?

Nope, the new model, they are not planning on making one, the 510hp engine, according to jaguar is enough to suit everyones needs. the end for r, is here, well atleast till jaguar realizes how much of a clusterf*** idea it is, in my opinion

I'm not sure I'm following you. The 510 HP engine is the supercharged V8. Jag only has 1 engine now as far as I know, which is a 5.0 V8 rated at some 365 HP or so. Once you add the supercharger, you get 510 HP. I'm fairly sure both options are available on the XJ, XK, and XF.

Edit : It's actually 385 HP, not 365. Check info here : http://www.jaguarperformance.com/engines/

I understand what you mean now. I didn't know they weren't gonna call it a XJR. But if you look at Jaguar's website, the XJ Supersport looks similar to a XJR to me. Just get a badge at the dealership

I actually did what you're thinking about. I had an 03 2.5 X-Type, and, then, an 06 3.0 X-Type. My local dealer got in an 06 S-Type 4.2 VDP that was a lease car. It was in excellent shape, and the dealer was selling it as a Select Edition car. I took it home for the evening, and, the next day, swapped my 06 X-Type for it. I've had the S for a year now, and, here's how it stacks up. No - its not as good in snow as my X-Types were. On trips - its much quieter, rides better, has more room, and averages about 5 more MPG than my X Types did. The performance the 4.2 delivers, even without the supercharger, is quite nice. At interstate speeds, with the 6 speed ZF box, it loafs along. A couple months ago, I equipped the S with some decent tires and it now behaves itself in heavy rain, and, manages snow much better than it did with the worn Michelins that came on it.

My 02cents worth
