I bolted the TC back into the transmission... I then realize I forgot to put the tiny copper ring clamp (see pic.) back on the end of the link shaft which runs through the TC....can I leave the clamp off or is it essential that the clamp be put on the link shaft... thanks...

 

You need to place this ring back on the intermediate shaft. It keeps the shaft from coming out, and if that happens, it will lose front wheel drive capability. Had this happen long time ago on customers vehicle.


Have you bolted everything back together already?

 

Took TC back off and put on the ring... hassel but necessary thing to do.. no brainer....
