Display reads Transmission Fault, Car won’t turn over, can’t shift out of Park. How does this get towed?

And remember the X needs to be towed on a flat bed hauler.

Why a flat bed Dell? 'cos it's an auto?
I thought you could tow an auto for about 30 miles without causing any damage?

Note the automatic guidelines (essentially don't) =

towing a manual X-Type, the following should not be exceeded: -A distance of 30 miles (48 KM) -a speed of 30 mph (48 KPH) -ignition of the car left in the "RUN" position to prevent the steering from locking -gear selector in the neutral position. For reference, the same rules apply to an automatic tranny except for the distance. That is now 0.5 miles (0.8 KM).

Even manual is sketchy at 30 m.p.h.

Well, that's pants.
My MGC towed (on a rope) an MGB 975 miles of the route from Moscow to West Berlin many, many moons ago.
The B's engine was knackered anyway but the rest of the car held up well although Eddie said that the steering started to go light above 70mph.
Got in the Guinness Book of Records for that one!
And stopped for speeding in Russia.

It's not the drive shaft you need to be concerned with. It's the front wheels being driven while towing, bad ju-ju. So I guess disconnection of the drive shaft, raising the front would work. For me, I had a flat bed do mine, the cost isn't any different so why do the extra work?

I had to have my 08 AT towed when I first got it.. The AAA driver showed up in a wheel-lift truck to tow it 60 miles (at freeway speeds). WRONG! When I explained to him that it's AWD he towed it from the rear and put dollies under the front tires... In the future; If I need AAA to tow one of my X-Types, I'll tell the operator that the tow company better show up in a flat-bed.

Read the section Vehicle Recovery in your owners manual.
