While we are on the topic of Trunk, is there away to reprogram an X-type when you unlock the door, it does not unlock the trunk.

I would perfer my trunk be locked until I unlock it.

I don't think there is. Most cars today with remote lock and unlock either have it programmed like the X or the doors unlock and not the trunk. The X has a funny set up you also have a trunk unlock button on the fob, which opens just enough to lift the lid. if you unlock it with the door button U have to push the trunk button to open the trunk.

I started thinking after I made my post, me thinking is a BIG deal, anyway there are two settings on the FOB one to unlock the driver's door and trunk and the other to unlock all the doors and trunk. You press the lock and unlock buttons at the same time until the side lights blink and the sequence is changes. But either way the trunk still unlocks. Another feature you might like if you leave a window open and you get out of car with the key lock it with the key turn in CW and hold it all windows and moon roof, if equipped will close. However, and I don't get this. If you unlock the car with the key and hold it CCW the doors will open but the window won't go down. I had a Mercedes, if you pressed the Fob open button and held it all windows would open. If you pressed the lock button and held it all windows would close. Why Jaguar would do one and not the other is beyond me, unless there engineers aren't that smart. As they sure screwed up with the HID auto level headlights

I was thinking that this fob trick to open the drivers door only would not unlock the trunk but it does, but you still have to press the trunk button to open it Well I tried to help .

Jaguar doesnt make the lights, hella or valleo does. And the global opening is programable but by the dealer until that changed on the later cars
