Default UK X series Key Problem

Hi fellow Uk Owners. I'm new here and have a problem.
One keyfob will unlock my jag. The other one will lock it. But neither will do both.
What Do I need to do to fix this. I have had new batteries put in, but wondered if they were duds.

Thanks

Ken

Hi

You need to reprogram both keys to car, all you need to do is put one key into ignition turn it on and off as quickly as possible for about five turns you will hear a beeb once you do press the lock button on all keys you want to program then switch off ignition and try keys if it doesn't work repeat process once programmed start car with both keys one at a time.

Hmmm.

Tried the solution offered. Got all the beeps in the right places but still have the same issue.
One fob will lock but not unlock. The other will unlock but not lock.
I am fearing having to go to my jag dealer and pay a lot to solve this.

As the programming sequence is giving the right responses for you, it may be bad microswitches in the fobs.

There's several places in the UK will replace these for you. Two which have been used by forum members are:

Jaguar X and S type key repair. Jaguar X & S type of key repair

Jaguar Key Repair Service

It could be worth eliminating this simple and regular issue with a low cost repair before assuming the worst and going to the dealer. Jaguar in the UK will not repair a fob but will only supply a new replacement.

Thanks Graham

Ken,
Just make sure the two Fob's/ Keys have the same and correct frequency
for use on your car ?

(UK Fobs/Keys work on a different frequency to US Fobs/Keys)
