vacum leak!

Default vacum leak!

i notice when i open my hood i can hear a vacum leak. its coming from the intake. does anyone know what to use to locate the vacum leak

1). Remove your dust cover from the motor. Check the PVC hose (which is about 6' long running front to rear on top of motor) that one has been known to cause problems. Look for a split on the under side. Check the pipe to the brake booster, the other hose that comes off top of the throttle body (TB) and around the IMTs.

2). If this visual inspection turns up nothing then get a can of starter fluid, start your engine. Give short bursts of spray around the throttle body, the IMTs, etc. theRPM will increase when you are in the area of the vacuum leak.

Let me know how it goes, there is a third option which is more extreme that I mention is my post "Check Engine Light and codes."
