Default Water ingress.

Hi all my 09 x type now has an indoor swimming pool in the drivers foot well. It looks like it's coming in from somewhere on the drivers side bulk head but I can't see where. Ive been under the dash and it's running down the back of the silver box mounted under the electrical connection plugs above the pedals. I can't seem to remove these or the sound proofing to check further.
Anyone know how these come out or possible locations for the leak.
Cheers Lee.

I would remove the cabin filter and make sure that everything is clean in there. Sounds like the drain is clogged.

There is a filter on the passenger side that looks clear. I've just put the hose over the drivers corner of the windscreen and it floods in but I just can't find exactly where.

It shouldn't flood in there. Sounds like the drain holes are clogged. This might help you. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...esolved-80084/

Thanks for that Jac.
I've found one leak which was the factory panel sealant not applied propery and allowing a gap. This is defo fresh water straight from the hose coming in. But it's only coming in if parked slightly up hill. ?

you may want to remove that silver box. It is the TCM (transmission control module). If it gets wet over time it will short out and the car will go into limp mode. It happened to me on the highway at about 70 miles per hour. It sounds like a bomb goes off, the car slows fast and down *****, and every warning light you could engine lights up. I removed mine and covered it in a plastic bag then bolted it back in. Make sure you do it when you have a day or two off of work because bending under that dash will do a number on the old back.

Yep got the contortionist t shirt. How did you get the box out? I think it's coming in through bulk head seal for wiring to that box but I just need a security driver to change the seal.

mine was held in by a bracket and two small nuts. I think i used a nut driver if i remember correctly. I will climb under there tonight and take a look for you.

Jvagas.
Where was your leak comin from. I guessing the bulk head seal for wiring to that module looks like a likely culprit.
