Default What bulb is this..

There's a small bulb in the high beam compartment in the top corner of the H1 bulbs, and I have no clue what the name for those are.

Low beams are D2S HID
High Beams are H1
Fog lights are H11

Correct me if I'm wrong for any of those, I'm going to replace all of the bulbs next weekend and need to order them.

They are called the "dip lights" and they are a 5w5 bulb. They are a bitch to get out of the headlight sockets on the xtype and you will have to be very careful you don't break the assemblies when removing the old one.

Another thing while this is still going, I was wondering if these fog lights would be alright to install to the car. The whole On Board Computer (OBC) warning for luxury cars from the site makes me wonder if I'll have to install an error free wiring decoder kit.

68 SMD H11 LED Bulbs | H8 LED bulbs For Fog Lights or Driving Lights

Looks like a good site, heard good reviews if people are looking to update their bulbs.

Jaguar calls them 'PILOT LAMPS' in several publications.
Service bulletins, Parts catalogues and Owners booklets all have different names for the same component!!!!!!!!!!!
It is the classic ENGLISH translation thing!!

disguay, the "dip lights" are what us Americans call "low beams". The "Main Beams" are what us Americans call "High beams". I have gotten bit by this looking at the diagrams. Kinda like they small bulb that Fezz talks about Jaguar calls a "side light" where us Americans call it a "running light".

Fezz, that small bulb you are talking about is a light that will come on when you put the headlight switch in the "Parking light" position (some call it "Running light" position). It is a 5w5 bulb. Just be careful pulling the bulb out. It is normally in there pretty good and if you pull too hard, you will trash the inside supports for the headlights.

Thermo, thanks for clearing that up for me, I will probably never actually remember that because I've heard them called a hundred different names. All I know is the bulb type and to be careful

Fezz, LED's like that are not going to put out very much light. If you're going to spend the money on it, do it right and get HID's in your fog lights. There's a write up in the FAQ of how to do this. Both Thermo and I have done this and the results are great! I bought the cheapest kit on ebay I could find and now a year later, they are still running strong. The thing is, when it comes to HID kits, they are all made in the same factory, but they are just branded differently.

Just out of curiosity, how much did you pay for your HID conversion kit for the H11 fog lights?

Tried looking under the FAQ but couldn't find the write up for the conversion kit.

Some further info
Kinda like they small bulb that Fezz talks about Jaguar calls a "side light" where us Americans call it a "running light".
These small push fit bulbs are fitted to many many makes of cars in the UK. They have been standard fit on all my Fords for the last maybe 40 years.
We call them side light bulbs. Many say they should only be used, on their own, as parking lights.

I would be surprised if they are W5W bulbs. The normal bulb in the UK is 5W which gives quite a yellowish light.

On my Mondeo I have fitted Philips W5W BlueVision ( Ultra blue 3400 Kelvin ) They give a much brighter light that is white ( not blue as expected).
I will be fitting them on my X-Type soon. I like them a lot!!!

(I will be changing my main beam and dipped beam but with the same 55W rated bulbs so that I stay fully legal )

Fezz, I just did and H11 HID bulb conversion on the wife's Ford Fusion. It cost me $35 and a few hours of my time. Like with the Jag, I had to pull the front bumper off of the car to access the lights to do what I wanted. If I had a way to lift the car higher, I may have been able to do it without that mess. But, I was doing the headlights anyways, so, it was just one more reason to pull the bumper cover off and dig in there deep. The fogs have been working fine in that car since I installed them. It makes installing HIDs super easy since you simply twist off the old bulb and the new HID bulb slides right in. This kit even had the plugs to fit on to the factory harness, so, I did not have to cut that either. I liked the kit I got. Granted, got the same kit for the headlights and have done a few rounds with it. Luck of the draw. But, it also helps to know if you are running a system that is powered via a relay or through a switch. It makes a big difference with how HIDs will perform and last. The high, low, and fogs are all powered off of a relay on our Jags. Not so with other vehicles.

I found a good priced kit with free shipping, the only problem is the chart on the page doesn't show a compatibility with the x type. I know I shouldn't follow them, but it's for the fog lights.

12V 35W 6000K H11 Xenon HID Conversion Kit -Low Beam- | eBay

Mind checking it out to see if these are alright prior to purchase?

Thank you guys.

If you find any other ones for a good price or compatible, please feel free to post them up. Much love for the help.
