Default What the heck is this part?

These two (identical) parts were in my X-Type's center console bin when I bought the car. I came across them again today while I was cleaning out the garage. I haven't been able to figure out where they go, or what they're for. Nothing seems missing from my car. I can't find any reference to the part numbers online either. There's a Jaguar stamp on the inside surface, so I know they're Jaguar car parts.

Does anyone know what this part is, and what it's used for?

Matt, I might be wrong here, but they look like bolt covers for the back bolts of the front seats. If you look down the back of the seats, find the bolts in the corners of the seat base. They should have some covers on them. Could possibly be the front ones though too. Haven't been in the car for the last 2 weeks (gotta love vacations).

Thanks Thermo. That was my first thought as well, but the bolt covers on my seats are intact and a different shape (rectangular). Nothing seems missing from the front or back seats, so I'm still at a loss. Hope you're enjoying your vacation!

Anyone have any other ideas about what these could be?

Matt, did you look at the seat belts down between the seats and the center console. They may go there too. I am back home now. So, I will try to give my car a once over and see if I can find out where something like that is located.

Hi, Do you have Child restraints on the back parcel tray, My X Type has 3 restraints and have plastic covers on them that look like your photo. I am short of one but Jaguar don't sell them individually without the entire bolt and plastic cover

Those are the screw drive bolts covers under the seat. If you look under the seat youll see the screw drive to move the seat fore and aft and thats the cover for them left and right, they get kicked off since theyre towards the back

Thermo, Brutal, thanks for helping to solve the mystery. I'll take a closer look under the seats to see if I can figure out where these go.

Wow, Brutal is the man (and would probably make a great forum moderator). I thought I saw those under my seats, too. My wifi router and inverter is under the passenger seat, so I am quite intimate with that area myself.
