A few weeks ago I would have answered that I wanted my next Jag to be an XJ Portfolio in celestial black...... or maybe considered an XJR in black as well.

Had a deal on an XJR fall thru, then that very night located my dream Portfolio just 1.5 hours away from me!

So I now have that Portfolio in the garage.

Excuse me while i go out there and swoon over it again...... ROFLMAO

I don't see ever selling my X-type. I got her used but got really lucky as my X has turned out to be 100% reliable. I am vigilant tho; I read the forums here for tips on things that could go wrong, and then I get dirty and do preventive maintenance. I.e. center prop shaft greasing, exchanging all the gear box drive train fluids, replacing worn hoses, etc. I've learned a lot about my car on this forum and the look of a nice X-Type Jag is pretty hard to beat. So I would only add to my collection, the following:

C-X75 Concept Car
Gas Electric Hybrid

I hear this car comes with dual cup holders!

There is a lovely white 1953 MK VII with only 8,268 miles currently for sale on eBay for only $16,900 or best offer. I would love to have that as my next Jag... but without air conditioning, it would not be usable for a commute car in southern Virginia in the summertime. Still, it is a beautiful motorcar.

I want an XKR and I'm willing to sacrifice the C6 for it down the road. I started driving the C6 to work last summer on nice days. The parking at work is completely inhospitable to nice cars so I just tell myself, "It's just a Chevy". Similar to my previous convincer, "It's just an X-Type". But it really does bring a tear to me eye when I see all the dust covering my cars from all the trucks and forklifts racing down the gravel driveway. I gave up trying to cover the car because it just grinds the dirt into the paint. Yeah I know, more people should have my problems.

speaking of trucks, my bro in law has an SRT10, the Ram with the Viper motor, that thing although pretty useless as a truck is a riot to drive, over 600 ft. lbs of torgue, it just glues you in the seat, 6 speed manual. The thing is a rocket.

Default next Jaguar

I'll be looking in Feb. 2013. That's when the warranty on my '07 Jaguar Racing Green x type runs out. Don't think I can afford a Jag without a warranty. Maybe a certified 2011 XF will be my choice. The wife likes the all wheel drive of the X. If I can't talk her out of that kind of car the only Cat at our house will be my '98 XK8 conv. with 95,000 miles. Jack

It would be hard for me to say. Every time I see a new body style that catches my attention, they get better and better each year. I feel comfortable to say that Jaguar is back on track with style class and performance I only hope they can keep up the momentum. I would like to see them with a great position on the formula 1 racing again and also break the fastest production speed record.

As for water, I know it will go through 4 feet deep water without an issue. Done it a few times. Nothing like having water up and over the headlights, running up on to the hood.
LOL Massive snorkel?!?!?! Did you install launch tubes behind the back seats too? I think you just miss riding around in your submarine...

I'm new to Jaguars and like my previous Mustang I will go the route of a Vintage car next. I miss the days where you could pull up to the beach and sit/lie on your car without worrying about it caving in. Which Vintage Jaguar? I'm not sure yet but I will decide later.

I enjoy this thread, but I would challenge the group to find pictures of your next Jag to include with your post. This could be a great thread with a collection of pictures of Jags to back up the wish list.. The last 3 would look something like............

2010 XFR (all wheels are spinning while the car is trying to point in the same direction it's careening)

As nice as the X Type is, to me it just doesn't feel as special as the old XJ40 I had for 7 years before I bought the X. It's reliable, quick and looks more like a Jag than even the X350 but when I sell it i'll be going for another older Jag again.

Here's my old XJ40, gone to that great scrap yard in the sky

The XK120MC has always been one of my favorites. If only I had the bucks to own one.

Thanks Patterson, it was the 4 litre, almost as economical as the X!
