Assuming that this is a serious question, the centre console is the unit between the two front seats. The DSC button (if the car is so equipped - not every X-Type is) is found to the right and forward of the emergency brake handle. Cars that do not have the DSC have a coin slot /lock light unit there.

You are looking in the wrong spot. Find the centre armrest. Now look forward and down. You will see a small insert in the console which has a red light at the forward edge and the major part of this insert will have a grille form (it is not a grille - those are coin slots) OR if the car is fitted with DSC, you will find a button for disengaging the DSC.

You EITHER have the coin slots if you DO NOT have DSC OR if you have DSC the switch would be located where the coin slots are. You would NOT have both. There is NO hidden switch. Here is what the switch would look like if you have DSC which you do not.

ok.... here's a dumb question.... so maybe I'm JUST the guy to ask it....

If my VDP doesn't have DSC (I have the coin slots).... is everything in the car FOR that feature to be enabled? I mean.... is there wiring for the DSC switch under the center console and you just have to enable it in one of the many onboard computers?

I know in a lot of cars, they build them the same (cause it's cheaper) and just don't install the access to certain features listed as optional.
