Could be something relatively simple (inexpensive) like a clutch master cylinder issue.

Or it could be something expensive like the clutch and/or clutch slave or the synchronizer gears in the transmission.

I might get banned for life from the forum for suggesting this, but a good way to diagnose bad syncro's is to put about 3 or 4 spoonfuls of very fine hardwood sawdust into the transmission.

The problem might clear up for a couple of thousand miles, too! (if the syncro's are indeed the problem)

(Any Used Car Dealer worth his snuff will tell you that sawdust in a tranny will work at least long enough to get the sold car driven off the lot!)
