Default x-type 2.5 v6 p0037 dtc

Hello!

I Just bought a 2002 x-type 2.5 v6, and have the p0037 dtc code and check engine light coming again and again, following tops on other threads of this forum, I replaced the lambda sensor, downstream near the radiator with the correct oem denso part, but this didn't solved the problem...
What can I do?

Thanks!

ulmi - code p0037 is the downstream sensor (cat) on the rear bulkhead side nearest the windscreen/shield. Seems someone has got confused when telling you which 1. I kno for a fact because i had the same code come up few weeks ago and replaced and now is all good. Its the black connector plug situated at the right hand side of the engine by the intake manifold. I hope you have kept your other sensor! Ryan.

Oh ok I saw in some other threads on this forum that it was the other side
Yes I kept the old sensor, I will put it in the on the back.
Is it accessible? I did not see it when I was under the car to change the other...

Ok so I must look under the hood, and not under the car
I'll try this tomorrow! Maybe this will increase my average mpg, because there is a big difference between my obd2 trip computer and the actual, it worked fine with my previous car.

Hello!

I tried, definitely not possible without the correct socket... So I ordered and it has come today, the job was done in few minutes; and the chek engine light did not came after a little test drive! So I think it's cool

That was not without pain

thats good news! I bet it wasn't too bad using that special tool - i had to put up with a modified spanner, well saying modified, more like cut in half then a big tubular bar stuck in! But got their in the end! Just out of interest, how much was that tool and any ideas where to buy one? Glad i was of a little help, but i'd say you done the hard part like ur mx5 tho..

I bought the tool in a local car parts and tools, it cost about 60€ that is pretty expensive, but is lifetime garanteed (Facom).
