son just got car only locks with key but will open by pressing fob twice thanks paul

 

If it unlocks with fob, but will not lock with fob, yet using key (by turning twice to lock all doors) leads me to suspect the key fob itself has a failure on the "lock" portion button. There is a key fob rebuild kit sold it the U.K. to fix this and you keep the transponder in fob so no reprogramming necessary.

This is a stretch, but it happened to mine - check the little "door" in the ignition cylinder. If it doesn't close properly when the key is removed, the car must think the key is still in it and not allow remote locking. A tiny squirt of WD-40 fixed mine.
