Default RE: X-Type Questions

Brakes: EBC redstuff pads with EBC standard rotors seem to be the most widely used/reccomend aftermarket setup on the X-type. If you are in the UK you can get a discount from one of the online vendors. Do a search for "brake discount" and it should come up.

Sat Nav: Best bet is to find an aftermarket GPS unit and mount it in your car. Converting to the factory sat nav system is a lot of electrical work and I don't believe anyone has attempted yet.

Carbon fiber insert: There was a post about this a while back. You should be able to get the trim from the dealership for a fairly affordable price. If I remember correctly it is around $500 or so for all the pieces, or maybe is was £500. I can't remember- I bounce between this site and Jaguarforum.co.uk.

Brakes: Soo many members have compained so many times about the stock set up being very poor and inefficient in stopping a heavy car like the X.
Most members including myself have upgraded to EBC products ( I have listed the relevant part numbers below for you )
The Redstuff is what you should look at and consider, ceramics with serious stopping power which I can vouch for and reduced brake dust too
I married them up to the EBC plain rotors ( I would havegone for the slotted / grooved ones but they were just a little bit outta my reach price wise at that time.

Links below :-
EBC-brakes-direct
http://www.brakes4u.co.uk/ uk site

Part numbers :-
EBC front Redstuff - DP31322C
EBC rear Redstuff - DP31350C
EBC front discs - DP981
EBC rear discs - DP1050

Depending on your YOM these should fit, but always makes sense to check anyway. I'm not sure about the part numbers of the slotted / grooved rotors but you can always ask.
If you go for these and use EBC direct type in scooby58 at the checkout for a 15% discount.

Good luck with your choice.......let us know what you decide

Cheers

Jim

Welcome. Might a suggest a Pioneer Navigation system. Any of them are excellent, and our moderator Aquill can get you them at a much better price than the stores.
