Default X-type won't start

Hey guys.. In new to this forum so hoping I'm in the right place.. I have a 2002 X-type and a few weeks ago the battery light came on and after parking for a while just went off by itself. A few days later I'd be driving and the engine would cut off for a second or two then continue. Today I was driving and it cut of and wouldn't start, the dashboard light barely illuminate and I though it's the battery but after swopping it out with another working battery it's stil not starting and the cabin lights seem low and flickering. Has anyone ever had this problem and what should I do?!!

1. I would make sure the battery is charged.
2. remove and clean clean both ends of both battery cables
3. use a set of jumper cables to bypass the battery cables, the cables go bad on this car too

You said:"...another working battery.." Working battery is not good enough! X-Type need GOOD battery. Did you check the voltage of the "working battery"? If it below 12V it's not good.
