Default You we're right...my X found me

The X arrived today...i am in love!
This is the first blk/blk sport i've seen outside of the internet, and it's much nicer than i imagined from the hundreds of pics i've seen the last 2 months.

Its 04, 3.0 sport, blk/blk. paid $6200+200 delivery/gas/tolls, and in good clean condition, though will be cleaner by the end of tomorrow!

It has a few "minor" issues such as vibration at high speed (could be the small bulge in back tire..alignment...worn tires.....I'll be checking the transfer case "et al" in the next few days, i've read up here on what things i need to go through (more advice is welcome) I'll post separate posts for the "issues"

I do all my own wrenching and often rely on the forums for help...once i start gaining knowledge i answer posts as well as ask questions....expect a lot of questions for the next month!!!

For now i just wanted to let you know, theres a new kid in town!

Enjoy the kitty, she may need some petting, but she will purr for a long, long time.

Congratulations, I hope you get the niggles sorted soon.

Having high speed and bulge in tyre in the same sentance is a little worrying.

I'll be replacing the tires in the next week or so. I think the rear bushings are shot as the wheels are turned out a bit at the bottom ( so i read on here somewhere)...but that'll be a new post..lol
(high speed = 60 mph)

iownme, if your tires are pointed in on the rear, that can be causing the shimmy that you are seeing (imagine the tires trying to turn opposite directions, one of the tires is loosing and is skipping down the road, leading to the wear problems). Your problem is the lower front arms for the rear suspension. The inner bushing tends to wear out and cause some play. Changing them out is really easy. Jack up the car, take out 2 bolts, pull out the arm, and then reverse to install. Just don't forget to get an alignment done afterwards. If you need any more info, let me know. I've done this on my car.

Congratulations on the ride. A bit of advice I had a vibration in the rear when I test drove my car, it turned out to be a bent rear wheel, the dealer just wanted to take it off and put it on the other side. I said no, that will just move the vibration. I told him I wanted it fixed or I wouldn't buy the car. He had it fixed and one front wheels that was also bent on the inside. A mechanic from the shop told me when I picked up the car, the wheels on these cars are not very strong and try to avoid potholes as much as possible. We get a lot back with vibrations and 8 out of 10 times it is a bent wheel. The smaller wheels are OK, but when you get into the 17's like I have and up they are the ones with the most problems.
