Default 2017 XE 20D let sit for about a year. Waiting for parts will not start now

So my Jaguar turbo impaled. I was awaiting new parts and the process of doing so when I found time because I have multiple vehicles. I finally got to the Jaguar which I backed it off the trailer when the turbo had taken a crap. So I changed the turbo. I changed the oil cooler heat exchange and put everything back together and I put a brand new AMG battery and now I have power across the entire – my head unit lights up and when it goes to start all's I hear is a very slight tick and it won't even attempt to turn over. I am completely lost. This is my first Jaguar I have no idea on where to reach out or who to ask, but I have had a lot of luck in the forums with my diesel trucks in the beginning of my journey years ago and I'm hoping that the guys that's been doing it longer than I have with the jaguars can help me out here because I had just hooked up a very expensive scanner to try to reset a new battery and I am still getting nothing. So if anybody has any kind of input I would greatly appreciate it and I'm looking forward to hopefully getting this car started. Thank you all very much for your time

Are you getting voltage to the starter? Basic power/ground checks are in order here. These cars have a penchant for the corrosion goblins to attack when they sit.

The slight tick you hear, like a relay engaging or the starter solenoid? I have seen underhood fuse boxes get wonky with age, sometimes just removing and replacing the relays and such for the system will make them start working again.

Do you have any codes that the scanner found? There is no special reset needed to allow it to start after a battery replacement. No warnings on the dash?

Does not make the solenoid click. I just had a prosthetic disc repair in my neck so crawling underneath is not in my near future and it's driving me nuts. Power seems to be going everywhere. I backed it off the trailer when turbo took a ****. But let it sit for almost 18 months. Love the car runs strong and hate to dump it. Any kind of input will be appreciated. It runs through the motions on the dash of lights up. It says diesel preheat in progress and then when it goes to fire over all the gauges light up and it sends the signal and nothing happens.

There was a HVAC code but that was pretty much it. Nothing that would stop it from turning over.

Very possible you have an ECM relay not engaging in the underhood fuse box. Unfortunately there isn't a 'quick' test, you will have to start with the basics and see what is and isn't getting power. I would, just for fun, pull all the relays out of the engine bay fuse box and swap them around with other matching ones. Maybe one of them is making poor contact inside and this may show up as something different. Also make sure your engine ground is good, you have good voltage at the jump points underhood. Put a meter on the positive jump point in the engine bay and the engine block/head, make sure it matches what you measure at the battery.

You made me realize that I overlook something. When I was replacing the turbo. There was a ground wire that stretched across over by the passenger side shock tower and it was connected to a stud. When I pulled that nut off it broke that stud and of course I just put a end on it and stuck it fast to to different bolt on the shock tower which is covered in paint and all kind of stuff and it's like a cast aluminum almost. I'm wondering if that is my cause or it's not getting what it needs because it has a brand new battery in it and it's constantly telling me that there's a low voltage even when I have high amp a start assist charger on it and heading over there now to put an extension onto that ground and I'm going to run it to the frame and see what happens

Yep a bad ground like that could 100% be your cause, hopefully that's all it takes.

Ok starter solenoid is now clicking. That hasn't happened yet until today. So thinking starter got corrosion in it from sitting in my field for 2 years. This week it's going up on jack stands and I'm going to pull a starter clean all the contacts and see if we can get the starter fire. We'll keep everybody posted
