Default Do you turn climate off before turning the car off?

Hi. Just wondering if it's necessary (or prudent) to turn the AC/Heat off before turning off the car. Is it better for the engine or does it not make a difference? Thanks!

Does not matter. I leave the AC on all year.

Is there a quicker instant way to turn off climate? Or do I have to go all the way down, and then wait 5 seconds before pressing down one last time?

On the InControl Pro, you can go to the climate page and click the power button. Shuts everything off in one click!

Same option is in the standard ICT system. Touch "Climate" on the home screen, and touch the power icon to shut down. The advantage to doing it this way is that the car "remembers" the last fan-blower speed you had it on, and restores that speed when you touch the power icon again tomorrow.

It's a good idea to get into the practice of shutting down your accessories just before shutting off the ignition. Shutting the wipers off saves your windscreen from some nasty scratches if sand and glass has collected under your wipers during the day.

Turning off the AC means one fewer accessory to deplete your battery, if one day it's so low in energy that it's about to die and you didn't know it was in trouble.

Good habits like this are easy---so why invite annoying incidents by not practicing them?

I turn off the A/C as I approach the house but leave the fans running. This is in the hope that the fresh air will drive off most of the moisture in the HVAC system.

The A/c is constantly removing moisture from the car, evidenced by the puddle underneath when you park, I think you will find nowadays that the ECU will not fire up ancillaries until the engine has fired and the starter circuit has closed down. Welcome to be corrected on the last one but I never turn off the A/c summer or winter.
