Default Rear fog light.

I was playing around with my “rear fog lights” on my car and noticed that only the drivers side illuminates.

When I took my car in for service I mentioned it. They called me a few hours later and said that it must be a “Jaguar thing” and that they think there is no rear passenger side fog light.

Can anyone please verify this by trying on your car?
Seems weird to have only one side of “lights” illuminate.

Again, I’m talking about the REAR of the vehicle, not any front lights. My trim is premium AWD and it’s a 17MY.

That is correct. Only the driver's side.

Yup - Carpenter is correct, pretty normal I believe in European cars. My Porsche only had the one as well, on the drivers side.

Excellent!

Thanks for the quick response guys. Seems strange to only have one side.....

Of course, when I think about it....the concept of rear fog lights seems strange to me all in itself.

Cheers

unless you drive in the fog and it greatly increases rear visabilty to the cars behind you. And only one because if it were 2 they would be confused for brake lights

My previous 2014 XF had two very bright rear fog lights - very useful. I used to turn them on when anyone was tailgating me. Worked great - tailgater always backed off.

A fog lamp's pattern should be low and wide, pretty useful for seeing what's behind.

Weird and asymmetrical, but as was mentioned above not to confuse who is behind with a break lights, too much red light everywhere no the euro amber blinkers even though it's a European car.
