Question When did seamless Y pipe start getting produced (AJ126 V6 Supercharged)?

Hey all -

Have been in the market for a Jaguar XE 35t and was curious if anybody knew what year the Y-pipe for the coolant system changed to a Seamless design? I've seen some mixed input online (late 2018?), but was hoping someone had a more concrete answer. I've looked at a couple 2018 XE 35t models and none have been seamless. Both were late-2018 models with the virtual cockpit (I think this was introduced late 2018?).

Thanks for the help!

That’s discussed a lot in the F-type forum (same engine), you might ask there. I had the dealer install the seamless pipes in my F-type in ‘20.

Mid-late 2018, AFAIK. However, I have also heard reports of the seamless plastic failing at the flanges, so I don't think any plastic can be considered totally safe. Should have been metal from the beginning.

Just researching this issue as I’m interested in a v6 XE and when testing driving it noticed coolant smell, low coolant reservoir without a low coolant light and small coolant leak at the front of the engine.

im a jag guy and have a 2012 XKR with 115k miles that is on its 5th water pump. First 3 failed, the 4th never did but when I changed coolant had them replace the water pump.

Because of this I’ve been off and on the XK forums for some time. Less recently but more in the beginning. I don’t recall the Y pipe or the posterior crossover bar being an issue as it was the water pump itself - which was updated in the later years of the XK and became more reliable…. I know I had one last over 50k miles with the first 3 failing before 50k miles total.

QUESTION:

Was the XK designed differently not to have as many issues with its Ypipe and rear crossover bar V8 compared to the Ftype, XJ, XE v8 and v6???
