Default Extended Warranty worth it?

I’m looking at 2016 XF Prestige with a little over 30k miles. The car still has roughly 17 months of the factory warranty remaining (and 30k miles). From my reading though the forums and reddit the consensus seems to be that the reliability on the x260 seems to be pretty strong and there aren’t any glaring issues to be on alert for. The extended warranty (while negotiable) came in at like 4K just to get me to 90,000 miles. Any strong reasoning as to why to or not to purchase the extended warranty?

I haven't read it. What does it cover? Does it just cover hardware in the drive train or does it also cover spark plug coils, sensors, computer glitches, shocks and brakes?
Can your personal finances cover a couple $1,000 expense on short notice if needed? Do you have another car available if needed? Are you generally risk adverse?

Why doesn't this have the CPO? The CPO would give you a total of 7 years and 100k for mileage as a warranty. A 2016 then would have warranty coverage until April of 2023 or 100k, whichever comes first. It's the reason I purchased my 2016 Prestige when I was shopping for a new car, off the lot I had until July of 2023 for warranty about the same length I would get if I bought a fricken honda!

I know I paid more for my car because it had a CPO but I've purchased extended warranties before and they never seem to be as good as what the manufacturer has offered. Granted I don't think I've ever had the opportunity to purchase a manufacturers extended warranty so their is that caveat.

If you're buying this from a Jaguar dealer I would ask how come its not offered with a CPO.
