Windshield replacement complications?
An Evil Rock hit my windshield this morning and left quite a mark, and that lovely starburst crystalline artwork has already begun to spread. Dammit.
My '16 R-Sport has minimal independence, just the lane departure and AEB systems. However, I am aware with another car I own that those camera/whatever systems need to be calibrated following a windshield replacement.
Anyone had their XF windshield replaced, and did your dealer have to get involved due to the systems attached to it?

Sorry to hear...
I did too have a rock fly up and do the same to mine a few months back. Somewhere between Newton and Framingham, MA on either Rt9 or the Pike....not sure which.
Anyway, called my insurance company and took my car to Satellite in Newton, Ma for a replacement. Told them I wanted OEM original glass and they complied. Took them about a week or two to get the glass.
I reached out to my dealer ahead of time and was informed this is a normal occurrence up here and all those camera's, attachments are plug and play. Satellite had me in and out in about 1.5 hours. No warning lights and everything working as normal.
Hope your situation goes as smooth as mine did.

Yehaman,
I have heard many good reports about Safelite and glad to hear that your job worked out well. Thanks for clearing this up. I have never used them but one never knows what the future will bring so having a company with good recommendations is always a good way to go. Thank you.

Mobile is best, even though it costs more. You shouldn't drive the car for a day after they glue in the windshield even though they will tell you that you can drive it much sooner.
