Default 2009 XF s portfolio drivers seat heater not working

everything else works except the drivers seat heater.
Have checked :-
20 amp fuse (F25)
both fans work , seat and back for about 20 secs when turned on the first time then stop and i have to switch off engine before they will move again for 20 secs.
filtres are both clean and ducting is in a very good condition.
I have not yet removed the seat.Acess to all the connectors underneath is very limited so bad connections may be a cause Should i go this step or is there a know fix for these symptoms ?
The heater did work for about 4 years and just didnt .
I have not yet tried the cooling action as it takes a long time to work .
Passenger side heater works fine but is still slower than a BMW

Is there a proper workshop manual for the XF or does a Haynes manual for the XJ cover the XF X250 model ??

Tapper, get yourself a copy of the 2010-2011 XFS Workshop Manual from my Dropbox here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/lghw4v21pw...op3LD.pdf?dl=0
At least 99% and possibly 100% the same as the 2009 XFS.

Thanks .I have downloaded it .I did buy a copy of the X250 3.0 TDV 6 but i have a lot of trouble navigating the document as the links don't link .Yours looks like they do .Thanks .Also the vin numbers on my document dont match my car's.
Mine cost about £25 some years ago over the internet so looks like i supported foreign aid more than i thought i had .
Thanks again .

error codes from jag are
b122a-12
b122b-12
b1232-7a
advice from scanner is to check for blockages after the heating unit which i will do later.
It has just occurred that if i turn off the back rest , hot and cold from the vehicle settings menu , will it show that the seat heater works thereby proving that the back heater peltier is faulty ???

Hi mate. Did you find the fault in the end? I ask as I too have the b1231-7a fault on my xj drivers seat.
I have replaced the peltier heater element and did a repair on the smashed vent which I thought was sufficient but still no heated seat.
