2010 XFR Front Seat pan bolster
I am 5' 11" about 187lbs and not wide by any means and I find the seat pan side bolsters, especially on the left tends to rub my lower thigh and is a bit uncomfortable on longer drives. Has anyone else exprienced this. Overall the seats are great and highly adjustable, but on the 2010 to my knowledge there is not a lower seat pan bolster adjustment, just on the back. Anyway, it is a small nit on a great car, but thought I would bring it up and see if anyone else had this same issue. Thanks

I am almost exactly your size and don't have a problem as such. They aren't the most comfortable seats on long journeys but I don't do many long journeys anyway, and seat comfort is more complex than being just one factor (such as base side bolsters). Being European, I do like a tight fitting seat though, so one man's problem may be another's favourite feature.
Have you tried playing around with the position? You are aware that the "length" of the base can be adjusted i.e. the base can move forward and aft in relation to the back rest? I have the seat base quite long and tilted upwards and it suits me fine.

I experienced the same thing in my '11. I find the side bolsters make it uncomfortable getting in and out. Once in, they are not too bad, but keep in mind what the XFR is.. and that is a racing car for street use. The seats are designed to keep you in place during high speed cornering.
I take it as a wonderful quirk of these powerful and exciting cars. You'll get used to it!

Yep. I have a fat *** and wish those bolsters were adjustable. And, yes, long trips are uncomfortable.
My wife has a hard time getting out of the car because of them. If the seats weren't cooled I would think about replacing at least her seat. (Thinking about it, maybe replacing the wife would be cheaper!!)

I have the same issue with my '04 XJR. I do not have a big butt (well, OK, it depends on who you ask) but I find the seat pan bolsters uncomfortable - to the point of being mildly painful on long drives. I made a small leather cushion to insert and lift me up a little, but that seems like a ghetto solution. Is there a way to replace the rock hard foam for something softer without having problems with air bag sensors or some other mysterious electronics?

I've noticed this on my '11 XFR. I have RHD and my right leg seems to rest uncomfortably on the bolster. I find myself angling my body slightly inward toward the centre of the car to alleviate this issue and then I get this uncanny feeling I am not sitting straight, but I actually am and its all just a figment of my imagination.

I have exactly this problem with my 06 xj6, so I took it to a auto finishers, who stripped the seat down to alter the bolsters, but found he couldnt as its cast aluminium. he tried adding extra padding in thaat area, but could only get an extra 3mm in. I tried a gel type seat pad on top of the seat, and it helps a bit, but doesn't cure the problem
