Default 2011 vs 2012 XF

This is my first time considering getting into a Jag. My other alternative is the Infiniti M56.

There are some great deals going on right now for the 2011 XF's...but i really like the styling of the 2012's.

Does anyone know when the 2012's are going to hit the dealerships?

Thanks!

I was at the Jaguar dealership yesterday and they said the release of the 2012s has been moved forward, from fall to "any day now" (within a couple weeks).

I'm deciding between an '11 and '12, too. With a '12 I can special order exactly what I want, I prefer the new design details, and there are some very appealing new options. The downside is a poorer maintenance plan (no more free wear and tear items and 4 years instead of 5) and higher price.

With an '11, you get the Platinum coverage and more money off. The trouble in my area is that there aren't very many '11s left and they aren't discounting as aggressively as I would have thought.

I'm about 90% sure I'm gonna pull the trigger on either a 2012 Portfolio with the R seats (new Sport Pack) or a Supercharged.

I hate getting into a car that is 3 model years old, especially if the new model (2012) fixes some of the issues they've had with the previous models.

There are plenty of 2011's around in southern CA, so i'm sure i could get a killer deal. I really hate dealing with dealerships when a car is new and they think they're selling me gold.

Let me know how it goes and if you're able to bargain then down from MSRP...

good luck!

I'm in a similiar boat but I'm also looking at the BMW 550i and Mercedes CLS550 and E63.

I just wish Jaguar offered more pricing info on its website like other manufacturers where you can estimate your monthly payments.

Just curious .... what issues are you referring to? My 2010 runs perfect. No issues at all. I would think the opposite that they are now cutting corners to save costs on the newer model and it will have a shake out period. Andrew

Now I'm curious...what corners are they cutting? I haven't heard anything to substantiate this.

I saw the pics of the 2012 and decided to take the plunge on a 2011.

I prefer the exterior styling of the 2011, and since the motor/trans aren't upgraded on the 2012 (not that they need to be) I was happy to get a "3 yr old" design.

Didn't get an exceptionally good deal, as they only had one new 2011 that I saw and didn't seem very keen to give it away. Got it for about $3K below msrp.

And you can't beat that 5yr all inclusive warranty/service plan.

Estimating the payments is pretty easy when it's 0% 60 months as it is now!

Yes but I'm looking at a 2012 model and I'm looking to lease not buy. That's why I like the payment estimator as I can type in a few numbers and it'll reflect whatever the current rates are.
