Default 2012 XF Pad\Rotor options?

I'm getting the low brake pad message and the dealership says I need new pads and rotors all around. The car has 46k miles so I don't doubt it. My experience with my previous cars has been that you can get better alternatives for the price of OEM or equivalent alternatives for cheaper. Is that the case with the XF (Portfolio)? What are your experiences, good or bad? Any recommendations?

How did they determine that you need new rotors? Did they measure the rotor thickness and compare it to minimum thickness spec? Doubt it. Dealerships aren't called "***********s" for no reason 46k is not that many miles on rotors.

R1 Concepts have a large following and I've used them in the past for M45 rotors with no issues.

Edit: $tealerships is blocked, ha!

46k miles is a lot for these brakes and rotors. The stock pads eat the rotors.

and would you want to help people that called you a thief.
Said nothing about attorneys, politicians, or even dentists that charge $500 for teeth whitening that cost them $50.

Net is I would agree with the dealer - new Brakes new Rotors. My car had 48K. It should cost you around $2K. If you can do it yourself then you will safe money :-).
