My car has a suspected faulty Bluetooth module, it half works as I can see a device called "MY CAR" with my phone when I scan for Bluetooth devices, but getting constant pairing issues whereby as soon as i hit PAIR on my phone and the PIN code screen comes up, the scr's screen just says "Pairing has ended" and the phone never connects.
Following the 2010 service manual i have removed the passenger seat as it’s supposed to be here, but I can’t locate it!
The photos are under the carpet flap, all I can see electronics wise is the DAB module!
I’ve read one “Just Answer” article that said the 2012’s don’t have a separate Bluetooth module, that it’s integrated into the main screen unit itself. But The part number for the infotainment screen is C2Z18541 & as far as I can see this was the same module used across all XF model variants from 2009 - 2015. So it appears not to be built into the head unit.
I then purchased a 2012 XFR specific repair manual thinking they've moved the module, but this has the same information
Further looking into the repair guide, it says about the locations of the various control boxes in the car. It says the Bluetooth module is
"Below the left-hand (LH) front seat, adjacent to the Portable Audio module."
OK, so wheres the Portable Audio module....
"Below the left-hand (LH) front seat, adjacent to the Bluetooth® Bluetooth Control module."
However, it says the Portable Audio module thing is for controlling aux inputs via the portable audio interface. I 100% have this as i have a standard USB, another standard USB labled iPod and a Aux in connector, but as you saw from my earlier pictures, the only box of electronics in that area is the DAB module, not the portable audio module. They've moved it, but where too...
Can anyone save my sanity and tell me where this damn module lives now so i can smash it with a very large hammer!
Thanks!

Your car is a 2012MY, the bluetooth is integral to the head unit, not a separate module.
2012MY has a totally different infotainment system to the earlier cars, the screen is different too. "Just Answer" is not an accurate source of information.

Odd as I purchased a 2012 service manual and it doesn’t say that.
Totally agree that Just Answer isn’t trustworthy, but in this case, sadly, it seems to be true!
will speak to the dealer tomorrow but the entire head unit was replaced in 2017 by a Jag main dealer due to water damage (according to the invoices, so who knows what’s wrong!
